ByPaul S Roman

Many men are thinking about and interested in preparing for the summer ahead. The new Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition has just come out and of course we all dream of the perfect female body and her being head over heals in love with us when she see's our new six pack. Every man knows how much showing off our ripped abs can drive women crazy.

In your approach to getting six pack abs and getting ripped it is important to give consideration to a balanced and holistic understanding of what will produce the results that you want. Three crucial areas to focus on are 1.) boosting your metabolism 2.) Weight training and 3.) Exercises. Let's take a look at each of these in order to accomplish the goal of getting ripped fast and avoiding the common mistakes many people make that leave them imbalanced and unattractive.

In order to reveal your abs the layer of fat that is covering them must be blasted away. Obvious right? When you effectively blast away the fat your abs will begin to show. The fastest way to lower your body fat is through proper diet and exercises. This in turn will boost your metabolism. In other words, you don't need to starve yourself in order to get rid of the body fat.

Boosting Your Metabolism

In our culture today it is widely believed that three balanced meals a day is a healthy diet. To boost your metabolism and burn the fat away, change your diet and eating routine to six smaller meals per day. Each meal will boost your metabolism and that means six times per day you will get that boost that burns away your body fat.

Eat a good balance of good carbs, good protein, and good fats. If you don't know the difference between good carbs and bad carbs, good protein and bad protein and good fats and bad fats here are a few examples. Good carbs are things like, oatmeal, fruits, veggies and whole grains. Good protein are things like, milk, beef and chicken. Good fats are things like, peanuts, fish oil and seeds.

Weight Training

A balanced approach for all muscle groups is important. Furthermore to avoid injury and the mistake to over training make sure you have a day of rest in between each day of lifting. Also, don't underestimate the importance of muscle groups unrelated to your abs, for example leg muscles. Work on building muscle mass in each muscle group all the while doing ab exercises.

Exercises

Weight training falls into this category as well as cardio and abdominal exercises such as crunches. Cardio is vital and it is crucial for you to develop various cardio routines in order to keep it creative and in order to not become bored with your routine. That boredom can become a motivation killer. Stay motivated and remember to rest one day in between your exercise routine. Your muscles will continue to burn fat even on the day of rest and allow them to be rested for the next day.
